On November

As 2025 is coming to an end, so many things have happened since I last wrote in July. After joining a photo-zine workshop, I decided to close the year by applying for a one-year photography mentorship. It feels a little wild, considering my photography skills are… well, pretty much the same as always—if not a little worse.

But during the last Panna workshop with Roni as the speaker, he said something that stuck with me: you should either do it, or not do it at all. It made me realize how, for so many years, I’ve been sabotaging myself with all sorts of excuses not to take the next step. Now I finally have a reason why I need to do it—right now—or not at all. I truly hope this photography journey goes smoothly, and that I’ll meet people who can help me grow and develop even further.

some photos from Ephemere 1st Tokyo Photobook Club

November passed by incredibly fast. I met a few friends every weekend, tried out a new camera—it felt like ages since I last held a “real” camera! Recently, I also got to know some friends from Ephemere Photo and joined one of their gatherings. It was such a fun session, talking about photography, our favorite photobooks, creative hacks, and even how to navigate life in Tokyo. I had a great time, even though the next day I came down with Influenza A—probably from exhaustion and the cold weather creeping inhope this December brings good health and smooth days ahead.

on hues and anything in between.

Recently I got so bored but inspired at the same time..and have too much time in between my deadlines. so I made this. Just something from my day to day life. I've been doing black and white photos ever since i got my first camera, it's my comfort zone in photography, i may say. but comfort-ness bores me. and i guess it's ok to challenges yourself a lil bit. see how far you can do or go. see things from a different perspective. and who knows, finding one or two things that will make me fall in love.

life according to...

..my camera. Yeah well, last year during my trip with E to Jogjakarta I lost my phone. I must tell you that I feel hollow when I found out that it wasn't in pocket. I'm not really sad with the phone itself, but all the images that I've been taken for the past 2 years. That makes me sad. I know some of my fellow photographers (umm they’ll hate it when I said that – so photography enthusiast might be the right words) always mock at me whenever I took something with my phone. They said I’ll lose my mojo thing. I laughed.

What’s not to like about taking images with your phone? It’s light, fast, and easy. Not to mention they have bunch of apps that will makes your images looks prettier.  Since I've always taken black and white pictures, the apps help me with the coloring one. I've always (always) wanted to take a nice color pictures – too bad I suck with the button and stuff from the digital cam, so I set it all in black & white and let the available light helping me do the justice. So there I lost my magic coloring things along with my phone.

And you know what? That’s true. I've been abandoning my cameras ever since I have the phone. After I lost it, it’s kinda of hard to adjust my eyes trough the viewfinder. It feels different.  (and I can hear all my friends are laugh and saying “we told you!”)  I was a bit panicked actually. I’m afraid that i actually will lose it. Fortunately I brought my camera with me during the trip and manage to took some pictures. Usually I will just ignore them until I really want to see it. But last weekend, I asked E to ride me to the photo lab and print some pictures from the trip. And it wasn't bad at all. I still have it. (umm btw we’re not talking about images result from a pro-photographers kind of quality). But it’s fine for me.

Well, one thing I know is..it is really good to be back :)

ps. did you know that holding your pictures in printed format has its own sensation?!

the police.photography

Okei, let’s forget about the crap for a while. Let’s talk about something I like, really like, photography. Btw, I’m just amateur here, so u won’t find some review or professional tips hereJ.  Okei, I like the police, kinda old school I guess, but I like them ever since I heard “every little things she does is magic” when I was in 5th grade. So, maybe its lil bit too late, but I found out that their guitarist (Andy Summers) did a photo shoots during their journey. Very interesting, most of the photos were a spontaneous photography and what makes it a lot more interesting its black and white photosJ.  Review mention that this book, somewhere between photojournalism and an illustrated diary, follows The Police around the globe between 1980 and 1983. From the American West to Australia to Japan, Summers recorded not only the band members rehearsing and partying the proverbial sex, drugs, and rock and roll he also photographed fans, landscapes, still lifes, and passersby in a reportage style reminiscent of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank. Anyway..just skip the review and check this marvelous photographs

Actually there’s a lot more, but too bad I can’t find it on the net L ..Now I’m wondering how I can get this book.

Bugilisme ala Spancer Tunick

insane!

pokoknya takjub deh!
